"Banner In The Countdown"
To The Tune Of "Stranded In The Jungle" As Sung By The Cadets

I dashed in the countdown
While tryin' to keep a date
With my little girl
Who was back at the base
I was stranded in the countdown
Afraid and alone
Tryin' to figure a way
To get a message back home
But how was I to know
That the wreckage of my place
Had been picked up and spotted
And my girl in Gamma Base
And meanwhile, back at the base...

Betty, Betty, let's have those plans
You know your ol' Bruce Banner hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the countdown flat as he can be
So come on pretty Betty just you and me
Meanwhile back in the countdown...

A boy named Rick Jones had me on the run
When something heavy hit me like a Gamma bomb
When I woke up and my head started to clear
I had a strange feelin' I was with Rick Jones here
I heard something tickin' and I looked to see
That's when I found out they was a Hulkin' me
Geiger Counter, let me outta here
Meanwhile back at the base...

Betty, Betty, let's have those plans
You know your ol' Bruce Banner hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the countdown flat as he can be
So come on pretty Betty just you and me
Meanwhile back in the countdown...

I jumped outta the shock and finally got away
Frantic and worried about what my Betty would say
So I jumped into notion and started to swim
But my chance of survival was gettin' mighty slim
So I smacked down a jeep that was in my way
And I reached the base in 'bout a half a day
And when I got to Gamma Base I was almost dead
When my soul was gone, here's what I said

Betty, Betty, Igor is no good
Betty, Betty, he should've understood
You can trust me as long as can be
So come back pretty Betty where you used to be
'Cause Hulk loves you, 'cause Hulk loves you
'Cause Hulk loves you, 'cause Hulk loves you
'Cause Hulk loves you

TOP TEN SIGNS YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING TOO MUCH BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM

Top Ten Signs You've Been Playing Too Much Batman: Arkham Asylum

10. Everything looks like it's in Detective Mode.

9. You grudgingly admit that coat hangers are not as effective as Batarangs.

8. Your neighbors are beginning to suspect just who has been leaving coat hangers on their lawn.

7. A cape looks great, but provides little to no actual gliding ability.

6. You wonder how far the Adam West Batman would get with his Shark-Repellent Bat-Spray.

5. If mashing buttons were a martial art, Batman would have no more rogues gallery.

4. You wish you had a utility belt instead of a utility belly.

3. You shriek in horror at a strange apparition, only to realize that you're looking at your
own reflection.

2. You wonder if longer Bat-Ears on a cowl are more of a drag factor than shorter ones.

1. No matter how hard you try, you'll never sound as cool as Kevin Conroy.

RESERVE CORPS LOGS

Reserve Corps Logs

Kilowog: Huh ! You guys like to tell jokes and giggle and kid around, hah? Giggling like a bunch of young Qwards in a school yard. Well, let me tell a joke. Five Qwards sitting in a Scien-Cell. Oa. Wondering how the heck they got there. What'd we do wrong? What shoulda we done? What didn't we do? It's your fault/my fault/his fault. All that Poozers. Finally someone comes up with the idea, "Waitaminit, while we were patrolling this sector, all we did
was sit around and telling Poozing jokes. Got the message? Well, I don't mean to holler at ya. When this sector is over, and I'm sure that it's a successful one, well, we'll go down to Oa, and we're gonna laugh at all of this. Find me a different character down there. Right now, it's a matter of business. With the exception of Ganthet and myself, whom we already know, we're gonna be using aliases on this job. Under no circumstances, do I want any one
of you to relate to each other by your given names. And I don't want any talk about yourself personally. That includes: where ya been, your mate's name, where you might have spent time, any place you've ever been. All I want you guys to talk about if you have to is what you're gonna do. That should do it. Here are your names: Lantern Brown... Lantern White... Lantern Blonde... Lantern Blue... Lantern Orange... Lantern Pink.

Lantern Pink: Why am I Lantern Pink?

Kilowog: Because you're from Korugar, alright?!?

Lantern Brown: Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh

Lantern Pink: Why can't we pick our own colors?

Kilowog: No way. No Way. Tried it once, doesn't work. You get four guys all fighting over who's gonna be Lantern

Black. They don't know each other, so nobody wants to back down. No way. I pick. You're Lantern Pink. Be thankful you're not Lantern Yellow!

Lantern Brown: Yeah, yeah, but Lantern Brown is a little too cold. I quit!

Lantern Pink: Lantern Pink sounds like "Lantern Panther!" How about if I'm "Lantern Purple"? That sounds good to me! I'll be "Lantern Purple"!

Kilowog: You're not "Lantern Purple". Some guy on some other job is "Lantern Purple". You're "Lantern Pink"!

Lantern White: Who cares what your name is?

Lantern Pink: Yeah, that's easy for you to say. You're "Lantern White" and you've got a cool-sounding name. Now, look... if it's no big deal to be "Lantern Pink," you wanna trade?

Kilowog: Hey! Nobody's trading with anybody! This ain't a Guardian Poozing Planet Council Meeting. Now listen up,

Lantern Pink, there's two ways you can go on this job... MY way or the skyway. Now what's it gonna be, Lantern Pink?

Lantern Pink: Geez and cripes, Kilowog! Freakin' forget about it. It's beneath me. I'm Lantern Pink! Let's move on.

Kilowog: I'll move on when I feel like it. Everbody got the Guardians's message? I'm so mad now, I can hardly talk! Let's get to work!

GRAYSON AS THE BAT (WITH APOLOGIES TO ERNEST THAYER)

Grayson As The Bat

(With Apologies To Ernest Thayer)

It looked extremely rocky for the Gotham nine that day;
The score stood two to four, with but a villain left today.
So, when Barry died a second, and J'onn J'onzz did the
same,
A pallor wreathed the features of the patrons of the game.

A struggling few got up to go, leaving there the rest,
With the hope which springs eternal within the human
chest.
For they thought: "If only Grayson could get a whack at that,"
They'd put even money now, with Grayson as the Bat.

But Todd preceded Grayson, and likewise so did Drake
And the former was a Robin, and the latter was a fake.
So on that stricken multitude a deathlike silence sat;
For there seemed but little chance of Grayson's getting to
the Bat.

But Todd let drive a "single," to the wonderment of all.
And the much-despised Tim Drake "tore the cover off the brawl."
And when the dust had lifted, and they saw what had
occurred,
There was Tim Drake safe as second, and Jason a-huggin'
third.

Then from the gladdened multitude went up a joyous
yell-
It rumbled in the mountaintops, it rattled in the dell;
It struck upon the hillside and rebounded on the flat;
For Grayson, mighty Grayson, was advancing to the Bat.

There was ease in Grayson's manner as he stepped into his
place.
There was pride in Grayson's bearing and a smile on Grayson's
face;
And when responding to the cheers he lightly stopped to chat.
No stranger in the crowd could doubt 'twas Grayson at the
Bat.

Ten thousand eyes were on him as he gloved his hands
with hurt,
Five thousand tongues applauded when he wiped them on
his shirt;
Then when the writhing Joker ground the ball into his
hip,
Defiance glanced in Grayson's eye, a sneer curled Grayson's lip.

And now the weather-covered sphere came hurtling through
the air,
And Grayson stood a-watching it in jaunty grandeur there.
Close by the sturdy Batman the ball went unheeded sped;
"That ain't my style," said Grayson. "Strike one," Despero
said.

From the trenches, black with people, there went up a
muffled roar,
Like the beating of the storm waves on the stern and
distant shore.
"Kill him! Kill Despero!" shouted someone on the stand;
And it's likely they've have killed him had not Grayson raised
his hand.

With a smile of Titan certainty great Grayson's visage
shone;
He stilled the rising timult, he made the same go on;
He signalled to Despero, and once more the spheroid
flew;
But Grayson still ignored it, and Despero said, "Strike two."

"Clod!" cried the maddened thousands, and the echo
answered "Clod!"
But one scornful look from Grayson and the audience was
awed;
They saw his face grow stern and bold, they saw his
muscles strain,
And they knew that Grayson wouldn't let the ball go by again.

The sneer is gone from Grayson's lips, his teeth are clenched
in wait,
He pounds with cool vengeance his Bat upon the plate;
And now Despero holds the call, and now he lets it go,
And now the air is shattered by the force of Grayson's blow.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining
bright,
Titans are fighting somewhere, and somewhere arcs
are tight;
And somewhere fans are laughing, and somewhere
artists shout,
But there is no joy in Gotham: Mighty Grayson has struck
out.

THE JOKER WALKING (WITH APOLOGIES TO LEWIS CARROLL)

The Joker Walking

(With Apologies To Lewis Carroll)

'Twas brilliant, and the slithy tomes
Did tire and nimble in the cave;
All whimsy were the boroughs of,
And the lone Bat in Cave.

"Beware the Joker Walks, Grayson!
The jaws that bite, the cause that lock!
Beware the Penguin bird and shun
The voluminous Killer Croc!"

He took his Batarang in hand;

Long time the awesome foe he sought -
So rested he by the Gotham Sea,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in oafish thought he stood,
The Joker Walks, with eyes insane,
Came giggling through the bulging hood,
And gurgled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The Batarang went kicker-smack!
He left it there, and with its hair
He went triumphing back.

"And has thou maimed the Joker Walk?
Come to my arms, my squeamish boy!
O fracturous day! How do!
